'I, Jack Wright' Series 2

'Blue Unit' Director of Photography

Originally bought on as second unit DoP on series 2. However, during the recce stages, it became clear that my role would be more than the traditional second unit DoP role, as we would be operating independently of main unit, shooting story essential scenes with the lead actors across totally seperate locations. It was decided that the two units would therefore be renamed ‘red unit’ and ‘blue unit’

Stylistically we went for a dark and moody neo noir Chiaroscuro style throughout, leaning into silhouettes and shadow.

We worked to an ambitious schedule, with two cameras playing on almost every scene we shot. I had a fantastic camera, lighting and grip team supporting me, who bought so many collaborative and creative ideas to the table.
